St. James Methodist Church in Shirley, Southampton once again hosted our annual Christmas Celebration Service, where 50 of us gathered to give thanks for the year gone by and to prepare our hearts for Christmas.

As part of our time together, we lovingly remembered members of our Caraway family who sadly died during the year, while also sharing many uplifting stories that highlighted how important connection is for everyone – whether old or young.

A particularly special moment came when Phil and his wife Aly sang a beautiful rendition of “Mary, Did You Know…”—their first opportunity to sing together since Covid. We also joined in singing well-loved carols, listened to the familiar story of the shepherds receiving the Good News in Luke Chapter 2, and brought the service to a joyful close with a rousing Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.

After the service, the Shirley Memory Café Team provided delicious refreshments, giving everyone time to chat, share news, and enjoy one another’s company. Each guest also received a goodie bag as a small token of thanks from Caraway for their ongoing support.
