Our Course for Carers provides carers with the tools…

  • to understand the disease,
  • to support their loved one as the disease progresses.
  • to help them look after themselves.

With a friendly, experienced team there is time to share your story and listen to others alongside useful information and coping techniques. There is always tea and cake as well!

Unlike other dementia related courses this is not a ‘how to do dementia care’ as no one size fits all. Instead it is a way of

  • understanding how we think and feel,
  • learning how we accept and process the pain it brings,
  • discovering how to start living life in a way that is better for us.

Location: Make & Brew, St. James Methodist Church, St. James Road, Shirley, Southampton  SO15 5HE

Course Dates: January 4th & 18th, February 1st & 15th, March 1st & 15th, April 19th

Course Times: 2-4pm

Course Leaders: Dr Ros Simpson and Karen Kingston

Course length: 7 sessions on the first and 3rd Monday each month
