We are a group of older people who meet every Thursday afternoon at Lord’s Hill Church. Each week brings something a little different, from crafts and singing to gentle memory sessions. Just before Christmas, however, we always looks forward to our own special Carol Service.
The afternoon begins with a few quiet moments to remember those who have sadly died during the past year, giving thanks for their lives. This is followed by a relaxed and joyful time of singing Christmas carols together and reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas.
This year, guest speaker Naomi Clarke from Lord’s Hill Church shared some thoughts on Christmas gifts and spoke about the greatest gift of all — Jesus. Everyone then headed home with a small Christmas gift, rounding off a warm, relaxed, and festive afternoon.
Coffee, Cake and Connect, run by Caraway, meets every Thursday afternoon from 1.15pm to 2.30pm at Lord’s Hill Church. All welcome!
