Dementia from the Inside, a reflective holiday at Lee Abbey, Devon January 2020

What a beautiful place Lee Abbey is!

43 participants gathered at Lee Abbey for a midweek break to consider how to live with dementia.

This is the first Christian retreat for people who have dementia and their carers where the

experience of dementia is examined and creatively considered We also learned about dementia friendly churches and communities and had a session about caring for yourself. In the afternoons we had a walk, and a workshop which was a Japanese Memory Group session, or an art workshop. There was opportunity for many supportive discussions and informal chats, and the holiday ended with a lovely peaceful communion service.  As ever, the food was fabulous, and the community at Lee Abbey made us so welcome. Thank you, Lee Abbey.
