It offers a moment to take a pause with other carers at a range of stages in their journeys with dementia. With the focus alternating between gently informative and soothing recollections, allowing termly group space to recuperate and recharge.
We invite speakers experienced in their field to present on a particular topic and offer discussion and sharing time to learn from each other.
Carers will be supported…
We are sometimes able to accommodate care for your loved one who is living with Dementia but other times this is not possible. We will always let you know well in advance so that you have time to arrange other care if needs be.
Please get in touch with us if you are interested in finding out more about this group.
Why do you come as a volunteer to help with events like Vintage Adventure in church? …Well, as I’m getting older, I realise that for an awful lot of the elderly, they’ve not got very long left to get to know the lord So I think this generation is the most important ministry. If you’re in with students and you mess it up, they’ve got a whole lifetime when they can met somebody who will correct it. We haven’t got that luxury so this is a very important ministry and I just want to do my little bit.

'This is something my husband actually wants to come to. It has been hard encouraging him to leave the house for new things. But he has really enjoyed chatting with some of the other men. It has been hard getting him to stop talking!' I've also found lots of people I had a prior connection with which has been a great surprise'

“I like getting out and about, meeting people, having a laugh and a joke, all those sorts of things…”

I see spiritual care as far more than just whether they go to a church or have a faith or not, it is linked to their whole being.
