It offers a moment to take a pause with other carers at a range of stages in their journeys with dementia. With the focus alternating between gently informative and soothing recollections, allowing termly group space to recuperate and recharge.
We invite speakers experienced in their field to present on a particular topic and offer discussion and sharing time to learn from each other.
Carers will be supported…
We are sometimes able to accommodate care for your loved one who is living with Dementia but other times this is not possible. We will always let you know well in advance so that you have time to arrange other care if needs be.
Please get in touch with us if you are interested in finding out more about this group.
I wanted to say thank you on behalf of our care home for the warm welcome and hospitality you showed us during the Harvest Festival service this morning. Our residents truly enjoyed being a part of the celebration, and it meant a great deal to them to join in the service.
Kiya – Care Home Service
"I have just received your VA@Home after a friend recommended it for me. After reading just a couple of pages I know I will enjoy it. It is really lovely, thank you."
On receipt of Vintage Adventure at Home
I do enjoy all of it. I think the service at the start is good. I know some people find the little figures a bit patronising, but the discussions are good and it's good to meet up with friends and it's good to see all the displays. It does make you think. It’s the companionship and the friendliness. It’s just a pleasant few hours really. I think it’s nice to be using the church for a truly worshipping session.

"I enjoy seeing people who have been isolated, now connected with others and through that feeling more hopeful than they were before. Noticing people's sense of self worth increase is wonderful".
Dave, Chaplain for Dementia
“I like getting out and about, meeting people, having a laugh and a joke, all those sorts of things…”
