Buddy Holly Memory Café workshops
Caraway and the Mayflower Theatre engagement team are delighted to announce two Buddy Holly Memory Café workshops celebrating The Buddy Holly Story. The Mayflower Theatre Community Engagement Team will take the Lordshill Memory Café participants on a musical journey through time. Using a combination of music, singing and crafts inspired by the Buddy Holly story. All resources will be provided for the workshops all you need to bring is a smile and a commitment to join in the fun.
These two one-hour workshop sessions will take place at our Lordshill Memory Cafe on Thursday 27 April and Thursday 25 May.

Forget feel good, Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story is FEEL GREAT! This vibrant musical is triumphantly returning to Mayflower Theatre from 20-24th June 2023 as part of its 2023 UK Tour.

Experience the drama, passion and excitement as a multi-talented cast of actor-musicians tell Buddy Holly’s story. From his Texas rockabilly beginnings to international stardom and his legendary final performance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, before his tragic death at the age of just 22.
Featuring two terrific hours of the greatest songs ever written, including:

There is a Dementia Friendly Performance on Wednesday 21st June 2023 at 2pm with a ticket price of £19.50. You can find more information here.
Dementia Friendly Performances are tailored to support audience members living with Dementia, their families and carers who wish to attend the theatre. Some adaptations will be made to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable environment for everyone. There will be a relaxed attitude to movement and noise in the auditorium during the show.
Mayflower Theatre Community Engagement Team
MAST is a multi-art form cultural hub, community-led, with engagement and consultation at the heart of everything they do. Their community and outreach programme – Engage – works throughout the community giving opportunities to take part and developing both future audiences and future theatre makers.
Every first Friday of the month, the Mayflower Engagement Team host the Mayflower Reminiscence Café for those living with or caring for someone with Dementia. Café events offer the opportunity to meet and socialise with other people affected by Dementia. They would love for you to join them for creative activities, conversation and a cup of tea or coffee and cake!
