Course for Carers Lordswood Winter 24, starts Wednesday 03rd January.
Our Caraway Course for Carers, Lordswood Winter 24, has been specifically designed for carers of someone with a new diagnosis (within the last 2 years) of a dementia.
Running alongside Caraway Memory Cafes, the course introduces how you can live well with dementia and what support networks are available throughout Southampton. Each session will start with a warm welcome, as you settle into the space with refreshments and gentle mindful activity.
Programme:
- 2.15-3.15: Session part 1: Living well with Dementia by Ros & Katherine
- 3.15-3.25: Break
- 3.25-3.55: Session part 2: What our Local Providers Offer by Guest Speaker
- 3.55-4.00: Reflection, Q&A and homework
Venue:
Kings Church, 414 Coxford Road, Lordswood, Southampton, SO16 5LL. There is limited parking in front of the church.

Course Details:
This course starts in January, running through to Easter 2024. All of the sessions are on Wednesdays from 2.15pm until 4pm on the dates detailed below.
The course is free but as we are a self-funding charity, donations are very welcome. We recommend a donation of £5 per session, paid online via the website, at Caraway’s donate page, and label it CCC Lordswood.
Please note: This is a course for carers! The carer attends the sessions alone. Please tell your family and friends about this course and ask them to help. They will understand how essential this course is for you. If you are unable to find alternative arrangements, we have a caring team of highly trained volunteers on hand and experienced dealing with all behaviours and challenges those living with dementia may present.

- One to Ones, Evaluation, Planning for Future and Memory Cafe Support will be completed as a follow up phone call.
