Launch of Southampton Dementia Festival 2022

2022 Southampton Dementia Festival

Just home from a charming afternoon at Mayfield Nurseries for the launch of the 2022 Southampton Dementia Festival.

With the sun shining, tables and activities set, this year’s festival opened with a tranquil enthusiasm for the coming two weeks of activities raising awareness of what is available to the many families living with dementia across Southampton.

The Café at the nursery was busy serving amazing looking sandwiches, cake, ice cream and refreshments for the afternoon’s visitors. Many of those working and volunteering in Southampton’s  dementia community were on hand with information, welcoming people arriving, helping with craft activities and answering queries about what is regularly available.

The wonderful Jonathan Klein provided gentle guitar music and singing as background entertainment to the afternoon.
