As a Christian charity, supporting older people at home, in the community, and in residential care, across Southampton. Caraway aims to promote and resource the spiritual well-being of those in their older years.

Working in partnership with churches and the health and social sectors, for those with and without faith in Southampton and beyond.
Supporting those at home, in the community and in residential care, is at the heart of the Caraway ethos. This is particularly true, when addressing the needs of those who are lonely, socially isolated or living with dementia.
We have a fantastic team of volunteers from across Southampton, which we are always looking to grow. Maybe you feel a deep sense of compassion for older people and would just like to find out more about the scope of the work of Caraway and experience different aspects of Older People’s Chaplaincy.
NEEDED! Volunteers Winter 2021-22. The different ways you can volunteer for Caraway…
- Perhaps you are a gifted listener and would like to join a team that visits local care homes?
Maybe you are a skilled baker or have a love of catering and would like to help serving food and drinks at one of our community events?- Become an Anna Chaplain or an assistant to one.
- Join a group to develop and deliver resources for older people who are housebound or in care homes.
- Join a care home team visiting residents in a care home who have asked to be visited.
- Work with an Anna Chaplain to support older people in the community.
- Become a Wellbeing Volunteer for Dementia, or a Bereavement and Loss Listener.
