The Sholing Memory Cafe, run by Caraway in partnership with a team from Peartree GP Practice, provides a welcoming and supportive space for older people, carers and those living with dementia.

Held at the bright and spacious Salvation Army Centre on North East Road, the cafe is led by Caraway, Social Prescriber Sarah Cole and a dedicated team of volunteers, who work hard to create a safe, friendly and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Throughout the year, guests can take part in a variety of activities, from summer and Christmas parties to exploring Southampton’s history and enjoying music. But at the heart of the cafe is simply time together — sharing challenges, celebrating achievements and enjoying the companionship of others in the community.

Guests can enjoy social contact, delicious cakes, a listening ear and helpful recommendations for other Southampton services that support the wellbeing of older people.

A huge thank you to Southampton Solent Rotary Club for their generous support, which helps the Memory Cafe continue providing this valuable service to the local community.
