New Sholing Memory Cafés

We are delighted to announce that our new Memory Café in Sholing, opened at the end of February. 

The new Sholing Memory Café facilitates our support provision for the Sholing, Harefield and Peartree dementia community.

Starting on 27th February with the eager anticipation from the Sholing Community enjoying live music at the launch party. Occurring on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 1pm to 3pm at the Church Hall attached to St Marys Church, St Monica Road, Sholing, SO19 8ES.

This new memory café is a safe and friendly environment, with refreshments and activities to join in with or to just come and chat. For everyone living with Dementia and those concerned about their memory, no Booking needed, just come along!

Merging of Bitterne Park & St Denys Memory Cafés

Caraway Memory CafeWith a significant number of participants attending both Bitterne Park and St Denys memory cafés, due to their proximity, we are merging Bitterne Park Memory Café with St Denys Memory Café.

This change will strengthen our support of the dementia community in the Portswood, Swaythling, Bitterne Park areas, by consolidating our memory café provision to:
  • create a vibrant dementia community by focusing our resources
  • enable a more spacious comfortable venue at St Deny’s Church
  • further support our hardworking our invaluable volunteers so they are not over-committed

The last session at Bitterne Park Memory Café will be the 27th March.  While the first merged session at St Denys Memory Café will be the 16th April. St Denys Memory Café continues at St Denys Church, Dundee Road, Southampton, SO17 2ND and occurs on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm.

New Carers Course for Spring 2024

Throughout April until June, we will be hosting our Spring Caraway Course for Carers at St Denys.  This is alongside our memory café to further support the dementia community in this neighbourhood.
