The New Shirley Memory Café starts Monday 21st February 2022

Make & Brew Café is the latest venue to introduce a memory café to the Shirley community. This latest venue will host its monthly memory café on the 3rd Monday of each month from two until  four pm.

Memory Cafes are an incredibly popular resource supporting some of the many families across Southampton that are living with dementia. They are caring communities that making an enormous difference to someone living with dementia, by supporting both the person with dementia and the family members living with dementia. With assistance from both dementia specialist services like Admiral Nurses and the local charity Carers in Southampton as well as other families living with dementia going through similar experiences.

Do you have, or do you know someone with memory problems? We have Memory Cafes across the city for you, your carers and households living with dementia.

The Memory Café team at St James Road Methodist Church and  Make & Brew look forward to welcoming you for tea, chat & activities. An Admiral nurse will be present when available.

If you fancy visiting one of Southampton’s Memory Cafés, the following sessions are available.

  • Bitterne Memory Café, Ascension Church Café, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of Month at 3-4.30pm
  • Thornhill Memory Café, Medwell Court, 1st Tuesday of Month at 2-4pm
  • Highfield Memory Café, Highfield Church Centre, 3rd Tuesday of Month at 2-4pm
  • Dementia & Carer Drop In, Speedwell Court, 1st Wednesday of Month at 2-3.30pm
  • Shirley Memory Café, Make & Brew café, St James Road Methodist Church, Shirley, 3rd Monday of Month at 2-4pm
