The Ordination of Caraway’s curate! Caraway’s curate, Rev Penny Thatcher, was recently ordained priest at Winchester Cathedral.
In the Church of England curates are ordained first as deacons and then, a year later, as priests, at which point they can preside at Holy Communion. Penny will continue to be curate with Caraway as well as with the parish of Chandler’s Ford for the next 18 months or so and is enjoying her time exploring the spirituality of older people and of those living with dementia, she is often found at our Highfield Memory Cafe.
