What an absolutely joyous celebration of growing older on Sunday at the Victory Gospel Chapel as we gathered to celebrate the commissioning of Vivienne Golding to become an Anna Chaplain.
Vivienne has been part of the church family for 11 years, and it was clear from the outset how loved and supported she is within the community. Pastor Andrew warmly welcomed the Caraway team and Chaplains to the service.
From the moment we arrived and paused to pray, there was a sense of expectation. The service began with vibrant worship from the fantastic live band, drawing the congregation together in praise. Following this, the commissioning took place and the whole church affirmed Vivienne’s calling and stood alongside her in support.
The Anna Chaplains were honoured to pray for Vivienne and anoint her with oil from the Holy Lands. It was deeply moving and there was a strong sense of God’s awesome presence. During the service, Pastor Josh also felt led to pray for all the Anna Chaplains serving across the city. His prophetic words spoke of healing and wholeness in both life and ministry through which we were deeply encouraged.
After the service, the celebration continued in true community spirit. No gathering connected with older people’s ministry would be complete without sharing food, and Vivienne had prepared a wonderful cake for everyone to enjoy. It was a lovely opportunity to reflect, connect, and celebrate together.
We are incredibly thankful for Vivienne—her faith, her heart for others, and her commitment to serving older people. Caraway is truly blessed to have her as part of the team, and we look forward with great anticipation to all that lies ahead as she continues to walk in her calling.
