We celebrated the International Day for Older People in style yesterday down at St Deny’s Church with a lively Indian-themed Tea Dance.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon of live music, dancing, tea, cake and delicious Indian delicacies. A local Indian dance group delighted everyone with a colourful performance before leading a fun workshop, giving us all the opportunity to learn some Indian dance moves.

Live music was then provided by Second Wind, creating a joyful atmosphere throughout the afternoon, while a popular raffle gave guests the chance to win a selection of lovely prizes.

One guest said: “Those girls just danced so beautifully! What a treat it is to see their amazing outfits and dancing for us – aren’t we lucky!”

The event was made possible thanks to the hard work of the wonderful volunteers and generous sponsorship from Southampton Solent Rotary Club.

It was a joyful afternoon of music, culture, friendship and celebration, enjoyed by everyone who attended.
